Is Malawi court right to rule that Madonna can adopt again?

Popstar Madonna has won her appeal to adopt a second child from Malawi. Is this the right decision?

Malawi's highest court ruled that the singer could adopt four-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James.

In April, a judge ruled out the adoption saying prospective parents had to be resident in Malawi for 18 months.

But the appeals court said that decision did not take into account the singer's commitment to helping disadvantaged children.

What do you think of the high court's decision? Have you adopted a child from abroad? Should people be allowed to adopt children from different countries?

Another toy for his sad lonely woman. The judge said something about "The love of Madona........", the child will be lucky if she ever sees the woman. Nannies and other staff will take over this child's life, while the child will be paraded lke a mascot for photo opportunites before being thrust back into the care of one of Madonna's minions.

i think this is a real shame for people desperate to adopt children as Madonna obviously just has to open her purse and gets what she wants

In my opinion Malawi, like all poor countries need a stable Government that can help the poor as well as the affluent. I am sure that parents from poor backgrounds would be able to provide for their children better. What Madonna is doing is taking two ethnically cultured young children and putting them in the forefront of her disorganised world where she lives in. I would not be surprised if the first people they come across are their nannies. No offence but Madonna is the epitomy of materilsm

If Madonna likes children from Malawi so much, why can't she just go and live there? She would certainly avoid a lot of problems for everybody then.

I didnt think white woman could adopt black child in UK unless child was teenage / severely handicapped and nobody black wanted him /her .
I would also point out Mother Teresa and other awe inspiring people not raised in wealth and luxury .( neither was Jesus ). I can think of plenty celeb children lost in sea of drugs/drink , not many working fulltime as nurses , teachers , plant scientists , doctors etc . Fat lot of good their fancy education did them .

What business is it of ours or the media itself to comment?

It's called human trafficing, it's the wrong sign.

You can't buy humans, oh wait, if you have enough money you can. Madonna proved that modern slavery is still alive.

It's a shame, the only reason why she spent more and more money on the new trial was because her ego was hurt, not because she really wanted this child to have a better future.

Children should grow up close to their roots and not be taken away from people who think money can buy everything.
I'm disgusted!

With the money she's spent on legal fees she could improve the lives of more than one child in Malawi.

She could have bought malawi!

All this shows is that money talks, pity.

I personally do not agree with taking children away from their natural homeland, the money spent could have been used to enhance children locally.

I have read that Madonna's " millions of aid " to Malawi are not always being spent in ways humane or sensible , and are tied into trying to convert Christians to her Celeb-Kabbalah stuff .
I would also like to query whether she passed assessment from British Social Services as a suitable person to adopt a child . Would they let you or me adopt a child and force him/her into a different , wacko religion ? Be looked after by nannies , be fed a restricted diet and have no settled home/school?

To all those people who say that Madonna should be doing something else, something better, to help children, I would say that they should be giving all their money beyond absolute necessity for life to help fight against 3rd world poverty. To do less is hypocritical and obscene.

One rule for the rich and famous, another for everyone else. Malawi has cheapened itself by ignoring its own rules.
