Farrah Fawcett: Your memories

Actress Farrah Fawcett has died of cancer aged 62.

Her big TV break came in 1976 when producer Aaron Spelling cast her in Charlie's Angels as one of the crime-fighting heroines.

She achieved critical praise and the first of three Emmy Award nominations for a role as a battered wife in the television movie The Burning Bed.

The screen star's long-term partner, actor Ryan O'Neal, recently disclosed they would finally get married.

What are your memories of Farrah Fawcett? Did you meet or work with her? What is her legacy?

Her passing is very sad. The end of an era. My deepest sympathy to her partner and her son.

From reading the comments on HYS I feel like I was the only one who didn't have a poster of Farah Fawcett, but I did once have an autographed photo from Cookie of the 60's TV series 77 Sunset Strip. Geez I'm showing my age!

It annoys me that this beautiful and talented woman, that had just as much influence on every pubescent boy at the height of her career as MJ had on every teenager at the height of his music career - has been pushed into second headline place. Even the BBC and MPs have fallen into this trap. The two celebrities are equal and should have equal position for the recording or our memories.

A real shame. Again, like Michael Jackson, she's gone too soon.

Unfortunately for the media, her life was nowhere near as outlandish as Jackson, so the news channels, by and large, are not offering her the same level of publicity in death as Jackson is being afforded. Which is a real shame as I liked her more than he.

She was adored by most of us "seventies" teenage guys.

'Fondly remembered by young guys growing up in the seventies.

...and fondly remembered by us girls too ! Growing up with Charlie's Angels in the 70s, they were the epitome of cool and style to plain teenagers like me. The demise of Farrah is like losing an old friend. RIP xx

As a 50 year old bloke I can say I miss her more than mike jackson as I would sit glued to charlies angles every week and dream of her every night - thats what teenagers did then.

What a loss! She was my fav Angel and a truly stunning woman. I used to admire everything about her and watched every Charlie's Angles episode on tv when I was just a lil kid. Another icon's gone.

Rest in peace Farah. You brought beauty and talent to the world and died with dignity. The world will miss you. Rest in peace and God bless you.
