Michael Jackson - Africa reacts
Michael Jackson made an extraordinary impact on Africa and many of you have been contacting us with your reaction to his death.
In place of our sports show Fast Track, Farayi Mungazi and Alex Jakana are joining forces for an Africa Have Your Say special giving you a chance to share your memories with other grieving fans around the continent.
From the time Michael Jackson first visited Africa at the age of 14 with the Jackson 5 he's been a huge influence on the continent's music and culture, and of course his ambivalent attitude towards his own skin colour has sparked huge debates about black identity.
How will you remember Michael Jackson? Do you recall his visits to Africa? How has he influenced musical tastes and style? What impact did he make on black identity? What was your favourite Michael Jackson track and why?
If you would like to join Africa Have Your Say to debate this topic LIVE on air on Friday 26 June at 1600 GMT, please include a telephone number. It will not be published. You can find us on Facebook at facebook.com/africahys. You can also send an SMS text message to +44 77 86 20 20 08.

I like Michael Jackson, he's a great singer, great dancer, great artist. He's fantastic and phenomenal and there are few if "none" like him. we like him even if he changed the color of his skin or did plastic surgery. It's his dream and he has just realized it as anyone wants to realize their dream if they can.
Thank you Michael, we love youl! we will remember only the great things you have accomplished

For such a great talent, it's such a shame that his life (and oerhaps death) will be remembered for all negative things that he did. The circus that was his personal life eventually killed his music career. The 'eccentricities' and child molestation accusations will forever sully my memory of him and the joy his music brought me in my early years. Listening to his songs right this moment makes it even more sad for me.
A pity.
May you finally find the peace that so eluded you in life.

MJ, ‘The King of Pop’. I loved his music and short films especially ‘Thriller’. He had the moves, the voice and the eccentric behaviour of a musical genius. But although he made a lot of people happy (and rich, I might add), we were made to believe that he lived a lonely and depressing life (and later he was in debt). It is just like his famous ‘Moon walking’ an illusion, the person gives the impression that he is stepping forward but all the while he is sliding backwards. Michael Rest In Peace.

MJ to me was a Musical legend just like Bob Marley, I loved him because he made a mark in the Musical world. His Excessive Lavish style and his child abuse records were the bad points about him but he is still a Legend. My best Jackson Song is Liberian Girl, He sang that with all his passion, We will forever miss you Jacko

A tragic life. Sadly though - I feel he won't be missed, and most of the time will be remembered for his questionable lifestyle choices.

Well, death they say is no respecter of man. Michael has done his part. He has left a legacy to the music world. Michael has disown God for changing his skin colour which he should not have done. That alone has shortened his life span. The rest of the world should learn from Michael suffering and appreciate God for how He made you. For God believe in Variety of beautiful things.
