Do the panel agree that media coverage of Michael Jackson’s death has been over the top?

I wonder if Cocker was scheduled to be on the programme before Michael Jackson died. If not then even in death Jarvis continues to be a parasite scratching around to gain exposure and earn money from Jackson As far as the BBC is concerned, it was a crass idea. The programme is usually excellent viewing and there was no need to dumb the programme down by inviting (and paying) Cocker to appear

I heard the abuse about Michael Jackson from the fifth rater Jarvis Cocker - I suspect most of your audience didn't know the back story to assess the full abusiveness of it. Brilliant editorial management to allow him the oxygen of airtime with no reply - another depressing brick in the wall of the BBCs decline.

Michael Jackson was great yes, it's sad that he died but it happens. Let's move on. I agree with Cocker that it has been over the top. It was hardly a surprise, he'd looked pale for ages.

Michael Jackson was a very popular pop superstar the world over, it is not surprising that the media have covered his sad, sudden and tragic death the way they have. Michael was a very mixed up man who greatly suffered as a child in my view through fame at a very young age and never had a childhood as such. He was very controversial in his private life, but once he went on stage then his real talent and great genius shone through captivating all of his millions of fans. He will be sadly missed.

your new friend jarvis cocker says michael jackson hasn't made a good record since the eighties. i have looked at the charts over the last 19 years and found michael jackson has had more hits and more number ones then anything jarvis has done (no no. 1s jarvis?). jealous jarvis? oh, and what are you most famous for jarvis? exactly, without michael jackson nobody would even know who you are.

does jarvis cocker still think he's funny? he said he took offence at michael jackson pretending to heal people like jesus. can you tell him to look at the performance again and listen to the lyrics of earth song and explain where he got that idea from? does bending over into the audience and lifting your shirt up in front of a tv camara make you feel important jarvis? you are nobody. as for the audience and panel finding this section of the show amusing, well that tells its own story.

Michael Jackson did not invent the moon walk.He just reintroduced it. A preformer in the 20s did it.

how can an idiot like jarvis cocker even be invited on the show when he knows nothing. he should not be given the opportunity to comment on a star such as michael jackson. it has disrespected mjs talent to even ask the opinion of such a ploncker as cockr. he even looked like an homeless tramp. im surprised u even entertained him on the show the talentless loser. put it this way he will not b remembered in 30 yrs time. im fuming!!!
