Did you watch Murray?

Andy Murray was beaten by Andy Roddick in the Wimbledon men's singles semi-final. What did you think of his performance?

Roddick goes through to face Roger Federer in Sunday's final after beating Murray in four sets.

The turning point came in the third set when Murray fought back from 5-2 down only to lose a tense tie-break. Roddick played one of the best matches of his career to prevail after three hours and seven minutes.

Murray, ranked as the third best player in the world, is the first Briton since Tim Henman in 2002 to reach the semis. The last British finalist was Bunny Austin back in 1938.

Where were you watching? Did you think Murray would win? Were you cheering him on? What effect did Rafael Nadal's Wimbledon withdrawal have on Murray's chances?

A quality game!!! Was evenly poised for most part! Roddick, unlike Murray did not let his temper get the better of him and stayed very composed and professional. I wasn't particularly favouring anyone when the game began but was hoping Roddick won it towards the end, and he sure did in style! True Sportmanship Won today and I'm glad......

No I didn't, the UK is now a country of losers. He lost ! Yes I was urging him on, he didn't hear me. Raffa would have wiped the floor with Roddick & Murray, but durability is part of the game, yes?
Federer is invincible now and a pleasure to watch but not good for a competitive Wimbledon (or anywhere else)

I did see the match and it looked like Murray was way off the pace. He didn't have half the confidence he had on Wednesday agaisnt Ferrero. Nor did he up his game like he did against Wawrinka on Monday.

For whatever reason, Murray wasn't playing his best tennis and so the better player won. And this now sets up a very interesting contest for Sunday. Best of luck to both Federer and Roddick in what will undoutedly be a hard fought and difficult match!

Well he's lost , so no doubt there are some happy idiots out there doing a dance of joy.
Many have already told you where the comment came from, but you can ignore that and make up even more .
Like the chap who says Murray supported the Australian rugby team against England, not true and "says nasty things about other tennis players" - drivel!
You see the big yob difference is between sports , the Scots only dislike the English football team because of ad nauseum 1966,

I am sure that if he wins he will be described as a great British player - if he loses he will be spoken of as a Scot

@ Colin Mardell

Murray's first serve percentage was about 20% down on Andy Roddick's. If it had been a contest where you only get one serve, the scoreline would be utterly embarrasing for the Brit/Scot. Face it - Roddick has one of the best serves in the game. That doesn't mean that he's a rubbish player and punching above his weight. Moreover, Wawrinka's backhand is destrcutive - do you think we should change the rules to make it less so? Or did the fact Murray beat him mean it is OK?

Yes, Miserable Murray is out of Wimbledon.

I can't decide which is worse, having Moaning Murray forced upon our screens or having the BBC endlessly go on and on and on and on year after year after year with the same script about the last Briton winning Wimbledon. Well, I for one, am glad it wont be Misery Murray - at least this year.

I can and will enjoy the rest of Wimbledon.

Tennis is an individual sport. Murray is representing himself not Britain or Scotland.
The upcoming Ashes series is completely different, the players are representing their countries - Australians versus South Africans.

How many English fans do you know would shout for Wales or Scotland, none! And I couldn't care less that they don't because the feeling is mutual, this is rivalry not racism! Most Welsh rugby fans shouted for South Africa in the Rugby World Cup final to cheer against their arch rivals yet we will be shouting on the British & Irish Lions tommorrow.
Any Murray is representing Great Britain not Scotland or England. Some English fans cannot tell the difference between England and Great Britain

Of course I will be watching.

I confidently predict that Murray will walk away the winner of the whole tournament on Sunday.

Go Andy Go

Brilliant prediction Go Andy Go. Don't worry he's gone!

Yes did watch the game.Yes the best player did won.Just sorry that our National Press and TV Stations will portray this as a failure for British Tennis.
Guess Andy Murray will have to accept he is a Scottish Tennis Player. You cannot be British if you do not win.
Losers do not sell Newspapers.
But newspapers can certainly help fill the very expensive seats.
Guess that is what they and the organsisers wanted to achieve.
Maximum Sales...Maximum Publicity..Maximum Profit.
Nothing changes.

Andy Murray was and has been Britons hope for Tennis success in the eyes of the world as of recent. Problem is Murray either plays well or not well at all. Regardless of how Murray played today he would have not gone pass Federer at any point. The WTA ranking of Murray as #3 as oppose to Novak Djokovick is a terrible mess. Nikolai Devydenko and Djokovick are players of world class. Nadal is a Tennis warrior not player. And Federer? a lucky ghost. Andy Murray need speed not "COME ONS" Keep quiet
