I Think we have to see the job through we have started so we should finish,I agree with Margo if we dont take the war to them they will bring the war back to us,personally i believe in live and let live and would be glad to sit at the table and discuss our indifferences but i think in some people it is a little more than that,I think when you speak to people with such extreme beliefs there is just no convincing .

Usual mix of non entity, pontificating self important numpties on the panel, not one with any military service, and all using the "WE" when describing the risks of troops on the ground, one even suggested that once the corruption in the Afghan government was ended, that would be a move forward, how about the corruption in this countries politicians.
OPIK, clueless !, the presence in the region is right, even the Pakistan govt has woken up, suggest it's unwinable gives hope to an enemy.
Keep on.

i truly belive that reall reason for the war is to stop terroisits.
and i strongly disagree with public when they say they want the troops home. if we want to achive the aims for afghanistan whatever they may be then we have to have a miltary presence there. yes i agree that there are other ways but to ensure that they work you have to have a force their.
yes there are going to be deaths but the best form of defence is attack.

Just what is the real aim of the Afghanistan campaign?, is it really to defeat the Taliban find that bloke with the beard who welcomed 9/11 or is this just a symptom of keeping a puppet regime installed by the US/UK to ensure the oil and gas keeps flowing?

Once again a Panel from the in denial sector.
They show again they have no concept as to what they are fighting in Afghanistan.
The war in Afghanistan cannot be won and won't be!

"Wars are not won by evacuations" (Churchill). The Afghan campaign which is NOT an imperialist war must be won by the international coalition whatever the cost. Cowardly withdrawal would simply encourage Al Qaeda to move and step up their terrorist attacks on the civilised world.

Three Short questions
One gentleman said we're not in a Victorian war
The Victorians knew that Afghanistan was a fictionalised and war like county that would never be subjugated
Why does Gordon Brown think that he knows better than the Victorians?
Secondly from which branch of spec savers does the Lionel Barber, Editor of The Times, get his rose tinted spectacles?
Finally He said: - “We’re going to suffer casualties” How many casualties has he personally suffered?

An army that only spends its time training is no where near as effective as one exposed to operational theatres. Afghanistan if nothing else is a real life opportunity for our forces to test themsleves with regard to thier readiness to fight, and whether their readiness is up to scratch to defend the realm if necessary. The armed forces is not a career for the faint hearted and those joining to ski, absail and orienteer only need a reality check.

Pull all the troops before more deaths? Now lets go tell all those people who have lost family members and friends in this fruitless war, that there deaths were all in vain.

Whatever the aims of the Afghan war, we will loose. This is ensured by the MPs and the treasury failing to ensure that sufficient funds are available!
