Where would you most like to live?

Norway, Australia and Iceland are the "best" countries to live in according to the United Nations. Where would you rather live?

The UN ranked 182 countries on their quality of life - measuring their levels of literacy, school enrolment and the health of their economy.

The United States came in 13th, while the UK trailed behind in 21st. The "worst" country in the world to live in was Niger, followed by Afghanistan and Sierra Leone.

If you could live anywhere in the world - where would you could choose and why? What qualities do you think make a country a good place to live in? Where is the best place you have ever lived?

I'm 66 and live in Mid Suffolk which was recently rated as the best place in England to live but I know Norway and Iceland pretty well and if I was 20 and knew what I know now I'd move to one of them.
Australia would be far too hot for me and in a warming world the further North you can get seems like a good idea.
In both countries the people tend to be well educated, and have a well developed sense of society. The BBC remainsone of the few things that makes living here worthwhile any more.

Australia - ideally Sydney or Brisbane!! In all honesty i'd move to mars to escape the UK which is now almost a third world country & a most unpleasant place to live where you get taxed to death!

Those brave Soldiers of WW1 & WW2 must be turning in there graves at the state of this country. Aren't Labour wonderful??

Italy (visited there and it was a really great place to be) or Canada because the views, pictures and things I have seen look amazing. Basically anywhere other than the UK!

I spent a lovely week in the isle of Wight with my family in August and really want to go back. The people are friendly, there is admirable public transport for me (I don't drive, or ever will), the pubs are plentiful and the seafood excellent. I like the houses, the countryside, the seaside towns. It's a great place to live.

I have travelled all over the world and seen some beautiful and exciting places but have never wanted to live in any of them and am always pleased to be home. For all its problems, England is the only place I would ever wish to live.
