What impact will Question Time have on politics?
The leader of the British National Party Nick Griffin is to complain to the BBC over his controversial appearance on Question Time. What was your reaction to the programme?
Mr Griffin claims the normal format of the programme was changed and that he had faced a "lynch mob".
The fallout from the show - watched by eight million people - has intensified, with Mr Griffin's fellow panellists saying he had been "shown up".
Welsh Secretary Peter Hain, who had led the campaign to prevent Mr Griffin being allowed on the show, said "the BBC should be ashamed of single-handedly doing a racist, fascist party the biggest favour in its grubby history."
What impact will this programme have on the BNP and on British politics? Was it the right format to discuss the subjects? How did the panellists perform?

People in Britain are too scared to say what they really feel. I want our country to be our country regardless of colour. If you live in Britain you should live by our rules. I don't want to have to not say things because it may offend another religion or not say a poem with the words "black sheep" in it because it may offend. This is our country. I want it back!!! This debate has brougfht it to light and the BBC were right to allow it.

How laughable that Jack Straw accused Nick Griffin of not answering a question!
Griffin critiqued Islam, rightly pointing out that it is at odds with democracy and women's equality, and it is reported as 'Griffin attacks Islam!'
Do not take the public for fools BBC. We saw who the anti-democracy, anti-free speech thugs were, they were rioting outside Television Centre.
I would not be surprised to see this blatant left wing bias drive many thousands to vote BNP.

It is the hypocrisy of Straw et al that amazes me. They state Griffin is racist, hates Muslims, is inciting violence agains Muslims etc. Please remind me......Who is ordering the troops to fight and kill hundreds (or thousands) of Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan and probably Iran next? They also attacked Griffin for using the word "INDIGINOUS", what is the problem with that? That will be the next word on the PC's list of "UNACCEPTABLE"!

Why is it that when we have the racist card pulled out on us British people so many times the immigrants and others can get their own way. When someone tries to stand up for our rights to stop us being walked upon he is a racist. It is high time that the racist issues are looked at from our point of view rather than everyone elses. I would like to bet there are a lot of British people who would agree but are afraid to say because of being "racist". In other countries this is called Patriotism.

Given that 95% of the programme was an attack on Griffin and the BNP, I think that the man did a fine job.
The scenes of chaos outside television centre and the hostility shown by the Question Time audience make Griffin appear to be a mild-mannered and professional politician.
Those protesting did themselves no favours whatsoever.

I thought it was a farce to be honest. A hand picked biased audience and panellists just ganging up on him.
They then proceeded to say what Nick was thinking for him and then telling us all what to think.
I'm not a BNP supporter, but it was a joke and if anything I thought the other panellists came off just as bad, especially Mr Straw and the Tory rep. I think BNP will gain some sympathy.
Stop telling us what to think!

My wife and I think Nick Griffin is the most courageous man in UK politics. He was very brave to go on this show to speak in what was always going to be a hostile environment.
We are English, hard working people who can see that this country has an unsustainable population rise and a crippling level of debt. We also see many imigrant arriving to exploit our generosity yet not respecting our culture. Nick Griffin speaks sense. We are being invaded whilst our boys are dying abroad, its wrong.

Congrats BBC. At the end of the show i still had no idea of what the BNP policies were.
Watching someone getting shouted down by a four people and an audience may be great entertainment but it doesn't tell you very much.

A thoroughly disgraceful performance by Dimbleby who should treat the panel with equal fairness. This worst ever Question Time will backfire on those wishing to prevent free speech, especially after the skin crawling whimpering of Jack Straw. The Conservative and Lib Dem politicians didn't inspire confidence in listening to the concerns of the general public either. The BBC at it's worst.

The whole programme was a farce! it actually made Nick Griffen look calm and intelligent! the rest of the panal were just bullies. I am sick to death of being told what I should think and do. I am a nurse and I feel like I am walking on egg shells if I even ask a question about mass immigration How DARE the rest of the panel tell the likes of me what I should think!! I work with drug misuse and the huge numbers of immigrants who arrive here needing treatment is a joke! whoops I should be quiet.

And I thought this was going to be a debate about mass uncontrolled immigration. Again no one dares mention it

Absolutely pointless, none of the issues affecting the British public were addressed.
The mainstream parties continue to ignore the issues and the BNP gets stronger. Well done.

I am not a supporter of BNP, however It did seem that Nick Griffin was bullied on the show, I would rather have heard his comments on current affairs, postal strike, Banks and the military conflicts around the world. Only then would I have had a better idea of the BNP as a politcal party.

Jack Straw was a joke on this programme and I found him so arrogant.
He and his party have allowed mass, uncontrolled immigration into the UK that has caused social tensions, mass-development of the countryside, huge increases in our taxes not to mention all sort of social problems.
I found that he had used Nick Griffin as a hate figure to deflect questions away from himself and the Labour party and the damage they have done to the UK - how convenient it was for him.
