Can the US help the world out of recession?

The US economy grew at an annualised rate of 3.5% between July and September. Is this good news for the world's economy?

Analysts say President Obama's $787bn (£480bn) stimulus plans, including the cash for clunkers car scrappage scheme, helped to encourage growth. But as the stimulus package comes to an end there are concerns that growth may start to fall.

The economic increase also suggests that the US has possibly exited a recession that first started in December 2007. However, official confirmation still needs to come from the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Do you think growth in the US economy would encourage growth worldwide? Do you think this is the end of the recession for the US? Have you seen signs of economic improvement? Has your personal financial situation changed for the better?

Unless US Govt could PRY some of it's wealth out of the hands of the Few, this recession will be only the beginning.
Experts opine that this recession will see more US Citizens willing to Immigrate than previously.
One of the big culprits is Out-Sourcing.

American consumers like to buy "stuff" so an improvement in the U.S. economy will stimulate global economic growth. The recession has ended in the U.S. only on paper. Millions of Americans who still have no jobs, no place to live, nothing to eat are still in a deep permanent depression. The greedy financial corporations, bailed out by the American Taxpayers are back to their old tricks making money hand over fist at the expense of the working stiff who can't find work.

The US can help the world out economically primarily by correcting flaws that led to instability in the first place. Tarnishing socially supportive government programs is out of style to say the least. The President has used stimulus dollars to invest in long term improvements which will pay off big time. Investments in renewable energy and internet speed and accessibility will vastly outperform road repairs and bank prop up schemes. The US is coming around and will support world efforts to help

It's just the same here in the US - the rich are still rich and the poor are still poor and getting poorer by the day. Initially I was not a supported of President Obama but I have to admit that I think he has done a good job at getting the US back onto it's feet financially - hopefully he can now try and make US society more fair like Bill Clinton did for us.

The global economy needs good news from the US as some kind of encouragement; however, the US should bother more about their economy than about how to encourage the rest of the world because first of all the recession must be tackled where it started, namely, in the US.

We could speak about the end of the recession only in case of a substantial and long-term economic improvement.

Hooray for the bean counters. The numbers look good for the third quarter US economy, and the perception of an upturn will encourage millions to invest in time and energy. That investment will in turn spur more investment and good cheer. Happy days are here again.

Get real. Unemployment is way too high and underemployment is even worse. Let's bring back the US industrial base, which will make real jobs and a real advancement for the middle class.

US economy is a good news, of course. However, Many countries now are becoming self-help nature and independent in their economy, so although its a good news for them too but not very delightful one because many of them can do without US aid or economical assistance now.
