Is defamatory or libellous
A defamatory comment is one that is capable of damaging the reputation of a person or organisation. If successfully sued the person who submitted the post could be held liable for considerable damages and costs.
Is in contempt of court
A comment that risks prejudicing on-going or forthcoming court proceedings.
Incites people to commit a crime
A comment incites people to commit any crime, including incitement of racial hatred.
Breaks a court injunction
For example, naming an individual or speculating as to their current whereabouts after a court has issued an injunction against doing so.
Is in breach of copyright (plagiarism)
Content which has been copied from someone else who doesn't own the copyright.
Is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit or racially offensive
A comment contains language which is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit, racially offensive, homophobic or otherwise strongly objectionable.
Contains offensive language
A profanity or other language which might offend other people who read and contribute to Have Your Say.
Is spam
The same message, or very similar messages, has been reposted more than once.
Is not relevant to the discussion
A post which is not relevant to the particular story or issue of a Have Your Say debate.
Contains personal information
Your or anyone else's contact details, including address, place of employment, name of educational establishment, telephone or mobile number, email address, etc, have been published.
Advertises or promotes products or services
A post contains information which advertises or promotes products and services for profit.
Is not in English
A post contains languages other than English. Common greetings and salutations in languages other than English may be acceptable.
Appears to impersonate someone else
A user is seen to be impersonating someone (including other members).
Contains an inappropriate username
Anything vulgar, offensive, etc.
